Making longevity easier to understand and to act on

My one goal is to help people make better choices today that protect the quality of the life they want to keep living.

My Story

My Story

I started my career in clinical research, studying mortality risk and working across areas including HIV, ovarian cancer, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer's disease.

Very early on, I became fascinated by a question that still drives my work today: Why is it so difficult for people to do the things they already know are good for them?

In my research, I saw that information alone was rarely enough. People could understand exactly why a treatment or behavior mattered and still struggle to follow through. Real life gets in the way. Habits are hard to change. And even the best science can only help if people have access to it early enough and can actually use it.

That realization ultimately changed the direction of my career. I wanted to take what we knew about prevention, risk, and behavior change out of the clinical setting and make it useful to people in their everyday lives.

That work led me into health technology and eventually to Optimity, where we have spent more than a decade using behavioral science, gamification, and small actions to help millions of people engage more consistently with their health.

Today, my work is focused on longevity: helping people understand what deserves their attention now, what they can improve over time, and what consistent action can change over the long term. Because living longer should not require turning your health into a full-time job.

Biography

About Jane J. Wang

Jane J. Wang is a longevity expert, speaker, and CEO & Cofounder of Optimity, a global health-rewards platform and mobile app with more than 7.5 million members worldwide. Optimity uses gamification and behavioral science to help people build healthier habits and improve longevity one step at a time.

Before building Optimity, Jane spent roughly a decade in clinical research, leading Phase II and III clinical trial teams across North America, Asia, and Europe. Her work included mortality risk, dynamic risk scoring, patient adherence, and early intervention across chronic disease programs.

Her experience studying disease risk and human behavior shaped a larger question: how can more people act on good health information before preventable problems become harder to change?

Today, Jane translates complex health science into practical, evidence-based guidance people can actually use. Through her work around Shed the Dead, she helps people simplify longevity, build sustainable habits, and focus on the actions that can make a meaningful difference over time.
